IBR RED ANGUS
IBR Red Angus was founded in 1988 on North American
genetics from Quantock and Hanson ranches in Canada. It has continued
to use only North American bloodlines and has also added red bulls from
Black Angus bloodlines to broaden IBR's genetic base. IBR's philosophy
is to select only sires with balanced performance traits. This has enabled
IBR to produce an article capable of finishing for any market.
IBR prides itself on not directing its breeding program
towards producing show ring winners. IBR's aim is to produce lines of
bulls that are moderate to above average frame, are reproductively and
structurally very sound and consistent. The IBR cow herd is strictly
selected to calve every year, have sound udders and feet and have the
ability to produce a well-grown "sappy" calf each year.
IBR continues to produce around 50 bulls annually, which
are marketed directly from the paddock and are targeted towards the
commercial producer. These bulls are pasture or crop fed with no grain
feeding, have been innoculated with 3 germ blood for easy access into
the northern tick regions and have been innoculated against 3 day sickness.
